Tools built by a library nerd
Built for the Cochrane Colloquium 2013, this site is a place to provide easy access to the tools I've built to help me in my work on Systematic Reviews, reference management and academic work.
Common Keywords
Take a set of references with controlled vocabulary keywords assigned, and create a CSV file and a Venn diagram of how often in the set of references each keyword appears. This is for easy-to-use keyword mining.
ClinicalTrials.gov to CSV
Take the XML file exported by the ClinicalTrials.gov website and render it as a CSV file, so it can be read and manipulated more easily.
ClinicalTrialsRegister.eu to CSV
Take the text file exported by the ClinicalTrialsRegister.eu website and render it as a CSV file, so it can be read and manipulated more easily.
Title and Abstract Screening Spreadsheets
A tool for taking a reference library and spitting out a CSV file with the titles and abstracts of each reference, plus a scheme for evenly dividing those title/abstracts amongst a specified number of screeners.
Systematic Review Resources
This is a set of resources for conducting Systematic Review and Cochrane Reviews. They include tools, training courses and search filters/hedges/strategies.
PRISMA Flow Diagram Generator
This is a tool for automatically generating PRISMA flow diagrams in a large number of image and file formats. The source code is not currently posted on this, but since it is available as a web service that matters a little less. However, if you are interested in extending this program or running on your own server, please email me at yam@nerd.cx.
How Many?
Built for writing abstracts and text for grants with word or chacter limits, this is a simple web page to help with counting up words and characters.
